Bezos Completes $28 Million Home Improvement

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.Com, recently completed his $28 million Medina home improvement.  Property records show a $28 million building permit was issued in 2008 and completed in August 2010.  This was accomplished with little publicity or fanfare.  The living area increased from 13,200 sq ft to 29,000 sq ft in two buildings.  In addition there are “non living area” buildings that include the largest boat/party house (about 4,500 sq ft) on Lake Washington, a caretaker’s cottage and other buildings.  This and the Reed estates at 5.35 acres each are the largest in Medina.  Bezos has 310 feet of waterfront and the property stretches over 200 yards from the shoreline to Evergreen Point Road. The lot is wooded with a steep bank so very little of the buildings, except for the boat and dock structure, can be seen from the water.  (See pages 105 and 112 in Lake Washington 130 Homes, www.hundredhomes.net)

    1. To give back to their community. For example, you know that Bill Gates makes about, $1.38 million per hour, so giving back to HIS community that HE lives in, would not hurt his pocket book. In fact, he would make that back and double it maybe about a couple weeks after that. Just sayin.

  5. wow if he was really cool he would fund 20 million $$ houses or 40 500,000 $$ or 80 250,000 for people that couldn't get loans but were employed etc. How much is enough? I know the management of amazon is insane, that's for sure. They bought $1200 motorola's and the software didn't work, the scanners are crap and now they want to compete with fed ex, ups but treat the contractors like peasants.

    1. Give back to the community? You cant even give back what you owe therefore your credit sucks and you cant get a home loan.

  6. The pictures look like a royal tomb has been built. Looks absolutely amazing. So wish I could have this done at my place. My wife is more into the modern look which does not really align with gold. Hope this blog will make her change her mind and try this in our living room. Thanks for taking these pictures again.

  9. Lol! Why would Jeff Bezos fund public projects? Maybe because he has already bought and paid for every politician and the privilege to do whatever he wants in Seattle already. Since we 'peasants' and 'slave labor' cannot even use our city safely anymore or get anywhere in under an hour, I agree, this ASSHAT should fund the subway. It is the least he can do after bringing his freakshow here to what once was a beautiful city.

  10. I understand Jeff Bezos , Paul Allen, & Bill and Melinda Gates are Big supporters of the Diplomatic Society of St Gabriel. A global peace works founded by Catholic Diplomats at the UN/ NYC in 1996 to end interfaith conflicts?
